Who are you and what do you do?
Hi, I'm Larry Hunt. I'm a managing director and a client investment lead at OMD. I work with a financial services company right now, previously I was working with a telecom business.
I have a fantastic group of folks who crush it every day – I try not to get in their way. They are smart, they are good, and they are really driven to deliver great results for clients. I love when we get to bring them an idea that the client gets excited about and it actually comes to fruition.
We have great clients who, when they see an idea that makes sense, they embrace it and then they get excited about it. And just seeing that from start to finish, it's awesome.
What's it like working with a partner like VIZIO?
I've been working with VIZIO for probably between five and ten years. Again at my current agency, OMD, and then previously at Hearts & Science. Gotten great service and they've always delivered what we needed when it came to assurances on delivering the audiences we were looking for and quality content that we expect when we buy CTV.
How is VIZIO helping you tackle local CTV?
VIZIO is a way that can help expand our reach and reach those folks that we're not reaching in those traditional local avenues.
This is something that's brand new to us and we're really excited about it. I know when I call VIZIO, “Hey, we have a local challenge. You know, we're not reaching everybody we can with traditional avenues. How can you help?” – VIZIO is looking to build out their capabilities with regard to delivering local and I love that that's the attitude that they take.
They are like, “Hey, okay, we're going to come to you with a solution. And now we're doing business in local.” And then again, I wouldn't expect anything less. That's how VIZIO operates.
How do you utilize VIZIO's ad-tech?
I find VIZIO really helpful and giving me the data that I need to be successful. What we're seeing is that we're not reaching folks, either not at all, or not enough. And through VIZIO's ACR data, we're able to reach those folks in ways that help drive conversions.
What is your advice to young people in the industry?
I was at an event my client was speaking at, maybe just about a month ago, and she goes, “I'm a lifetime learner.” And I was like, I've never heard that phrase before. And I just thought it was awesome. Because, as somebody coming into the business, if you approach the business with that mantra – I'm going to be a lifetime learner – you're going to be set for life.
Because, what's really important in this business is: take your certifications, learn whatever you can, ride all the rides. Our business has so many opportunities to do different things and the more you learn, the more you become that valuable resource. Whether it be for your clients, for your agency, and even more importantly, for yourself. Again, you're learning what's out there and you're getting to choose that path which is going to bring you happiness and hopefully the success you're looking for.
