Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Allison Clarke, and I oversee general market sales at VIZIO.
What problems are you helping VIZIO partners solve?
I work with a lot of different brands, and one of the challenges (we) help them solve is that they're looking to find audiences.
They're looking to target them, and they're looking to do it additive to what they're already doing in the space. We know that they're buying linear TV and cable TV and CTV and other places, and so we have to showcase how we fit into their media planning to show that we are additive. The way we do that is to showcase our data and how we can target.
We can aggregate, we can find these audiences and do it with scale, with efficiencies, and also to ensure that it's incremental. So we know that it's additive to what they're already doing. We are really filling the gaps for them in their media plan because of that shift that's continuing to happen into streaming.
How do you describe the Home Screen experience?
Customers love our Home Screen because when we explain what that experience is, in relation to how they're watching TV themselves, it's really that moment of, “Oh my gosh, I spend 5 to 10 minutes at least figuring out what I want to watch.”
And so really understanding what that experience is on the Home Screen and what it means for an advertiser that's trying to reach an audience in that moment, is pretty compelling.
What’s your advice for young people starting in this industry?
Being curious, being smart, being persistent, having grit – all of those values, if you just bet on yourself in that respect and just continue to go after what you want, I assure you… it may land you in that place. But if not, there's a journey along the way that will fulfill you and hopefully come back to support you in some way.
