VIZIO held its highly anticipated 2nd Annual VIZIO Developer Conference on August 22, welcoming over 200 attendees to the free in-person event. Themed “Innovate: Beyond the Stream,” the summit highlighted VIZIO’s recently enhanced operating system, the Developer Portal and Preferred Developer Program, VIZIO Ads integration & optimization best practices, first party apps WatchFree+ and VIZIOgram – the company’s photo and video sharing feature, VIZIO Account, the company’s payment and subscription management service, exciting developments in the casual gaming space, and new features available on VIZIO Mobile.

“Innovate: Beyond the Stream” brought together the industry’s top engineering, content, product and business development professionals, to explore innovation and the transformation that is taking place in TV. Attendees, representing over 90 companies, heard from VIZIO leadership, including a surprise appearance by VIZIO CEO, William Wang, who shared his passion for product innovation and consumer experience.  Attendees participated in  two breakout tracks led by VIZIO’s product, engineering, and technical account management teams. The Development Track was designed for those looking to optimize existing integrations or for those developing  and launching apps on the VIZIO platform for the first time, and the VIZIO Updates Track provided a closer look at VIZIO’s business, new product features, developer programs and tools to explore.

The event also included a “Thought Leader Circle” roundtable featuring executives from Accedo, Ottera, Sling, and Warner Bros. Discovery and was moderated by the founder of the term FAST and senior analyst for TVREV Alan Wolk. The panel took a closer look at new innovations developed in concert with VIZIO as well as future considerations.

"At this year’s Developer Conference, we welcomed over 200 industry professionals who share our passion for pushing the boundaries of connected TV,” said Seta Goldstein, Senior Director of Business Development & Partnerships at VIZIO. “During the conference, we focused on innovation and what we can do together as an industry to move beyond the stream by delivering new applications, experiences and more - all to give consumers the most entertaining and engaging experience possible."

Over the coming weeks, VIZIO will be releasing select portions of the Developer Conference in educational and informative modules that can be accessed by the VIZIO Developer Community as well as interviews with members of the developer community and content partners.
