Helping viewers discover what to watch has never been more important. As streaming options
continue to grow, media and entertainment brands are competing for attention long before a
viewer presses play. That's why we're continuing to invest in new ways for advertisers to
connect with audiences on the VIZIO Home Screen—on the first hero placement on the screen.
Earlier this year, we introduced Home Screen Highlight, giving advertisers a new way to create
more immersive moments on the Home Screen. Now, we're building on that momentum with
Hero with Sound On—bringing sound-enabled video to the first Hero placement viewers see
when they arrive on the VIZIO Home Screen. Available exclusively in the top Hero position, the
format helps brands make a stronger first impression at the moment discovery begins.
Universal Pictures' The Odyssey served as the first theatrical activation of Hero with Sound On,
giving viewers a more immersive way to engage with content from the moment they turn on their
TVs. Building on that launch, VIZIO plans to expand the opportunity to select media and
entertainment advertisers through a broader beta program.
With Hero with Sound On, participating advertisers can showcase 15-second video creative with
sound directly within the Hero experience. The format is designed to help brands capture
attention quickly, tell richer stories, and create more engaging moments at one of the most
visible points in the viewing journey.
We've already seen the impact sound can have across other Home Screen experiences.
Sound-enabled Spotlight campaigns have delivered, on average, 133% more first-time app
viewers than traditional Spotlight placements. In another example, a sound-enabled Discover
execution helped drive a 193% higher click-through rate and 356% more video completes
compared to campaigns that did not activate with sound.
Those results reinforce something we've seen across the Home Screen: when brands can pair
impactful creative with highly visible placements, they create stronger opportunities to engage
viewers and drive action. Hero with Sound On brings those same advantages to the very top of
the Home Screen, helping advertisers connect with audiences at the moment discovery begins.
For media and entertainment brands, that means a new opportunity to build awareness around
upcoming theatrical releases, streaming premieres, season launches, and other key content
moments. Rather than relying on viewers to seek out content, Hero with Sound On creates an
opportunity to engage audiences earlier in their viewing journey with immersive creative
designed to stand out from the moment the TV powers on.
As we continue to evolve the Home Screen experience, our focus remains the same: helping
advertisers create meaningful connections with viewers while driving stronger outcomes. Hero
with Sound On is the latest example of that commitment, giving media and entertainment
brands another way to engage audiences, support tune-in goals, and build on the proven
performance of VIZIO's Home Screen advertising experiences.
The debut of Hero with Sound On with Universal Pictures'The Odyssey marks the beginning of
that next chapter. By combining premium Home Screen visibility with immersive video creative,
advertisers have a new opportunity to connect with audiences earlier in their viewing journey,
create more memorable moments, and drive deeper engagement from the moment viewers turn
on their TVs.
