There were no Top-10 matchups this week.  Viewing totals were on par, but viewers spent less time on individual games.  #4 Alabama hosted Tennessee in primetime with the largest average audience this week garnering 12% of this week's total viewing compared with last week's top game at 17%.  UCLA hosted #10 Oregon on ABC at edged out LSU at #12 Ole Miss on CBS for second place, each gamed posted 10% of overall viewing at 3:30 pm. #5 Ohio State at Indiana on ABC in primetime edged out #3 Oklahoma at Kansas at 12:00 pm on ESPN, each posting at 9% of viewing to round out the top 5.  

 

The ACC, BigTen, and Big-12 each had 5 teams among the top 30 most-watched games this week.  #1 ranked Georgia was idle this week and the SEC had just one game in the Top-30.  See the full top 30 below…

Week 7

 

This week's most-watched matchup featured newly #1 ranked Georgia hosting undefeated Kentucky on CBS Saturday afternoon, garnering 17% of overall viewing. A pair of primetime games, Alabama-Mississippi State (ESPN) and TCU-Oklahoma (ABC), tied for second with 8% of this week's college football audience- just half of the first ranked game.    

 

Among the top 30 most-watched games, the SEC games claimed seven spots this week, followed by the Pac-12 (6) and BigTen (5).  BigTen teams Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State all didn't play this week.

Week 6

 

The most-watched matchup of week 6 of the college football season featured the Aggies hosting and knocking off #1 ranked Bama, with 13% of overall viewing. Close behind was Penn State at Iowa garnering almost 12% of all college football viewed this week, followed by Oklahoma at Texas at just less than 11%

 

Among the top 30 most-watched games, the Big 10 and Pac-12 conferences claim five spots each overall in week 6, followed by the SEC at 4.

Week 5

 

The most-watched college football matchup of the season’s week 5 featured Ole Miss at Alabama, with just under 16% of overall viewers. Close behind was Arkansas at Georgia with about 13% of viewers, followed by and Michigan at Wisconsin at just less than 12%

Among the top 30 most-watched games, Big 10 conference games claim seven spots overall, followed by the Big 12 at 5.

Methodology: Inscape totals all the viewing each game from Thursday evening through Saturday night and divides by the total minutes to all games watched.  

Factors influencing viewing activity include game time, network distribution, lead-in audience, matchups, close scores, and the number of followers of each team.
